This reunion trip will be quite different for me, as I have only been to one other reunion, so many of your names and faces will not be familiar-kind of like my days at THS. Since I did not live in the district, nor did I attend elementary or junior high with anyone (other than Rick Lowson) I hardly new anyone-until my Senior year.
Yes, I live in SIN City; trust me it was that way before I moved here 30 years ago. Yes, Las Vegas is the city of sin, drugs, dealing cards, etc. But the only sin I get these days is the sin in sincerely yours letters, the only drugs I deal are Viagra, Cialis, Fosamax, and any other arthritis pain medication, and the cards I deal are get well cards, and condolence cards. All kidding aside, Las Vegas has been very good to me and my family-it really is a wonderful community.
To update some of most you, after THS, I went to U of A, graduated in '69, and went into the homebuilding business in Tucson and stayed in the industry for over 25 years (living in Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego and Northridge and finally Las Vegas), l left the home building industry nine years ago to join and later become part owner of a regional engineering firm, where I presently oversee the Business Development Operations (Marketing).
On a personal side, I met my wife Estelle in Denver in 1970 (I was the Best Man and she was the Maid of Honor at a friends wedding-how romantic), we were married in '71, and we have two grown (and married) daughters, and a granddaughter that is 20 months old. Our hope is to retire either in Tucson or Phoenix, in the next five to seven years.

Here are my ramblings: I have good memories of my years at THS. I think my favorite classes were Spanish class and home-economics. My favorite extracurricular activities were the girls tennis squad and attending football, track and basketball games. My dad, Coach Red Greer, made sure I didn't get mixed up with the wrong crowd. He was very happy that I was active in the youth group at our church, First Baptist Church. I married Gene Caywood June 1968. I graduated from nursing school Jan. 1969. When our three children were growing up I was able to work part-time as a Registered Nurse, which was ideal.
For the past 28 years I have worked at University Medical Center, Tucson. I have been challenged and aided there to keep current with the ever-changing medical field. My husband is a draftsman/consultant for a local civil engineering firm. But he spends countless hours building up Old Pueblo Trolley, Inc. That is right! The neat trolleys on Fourth Ave. He and a friend founded the non-profit organization 20+ years ago. We have three children, two of which are married. They are: Jason Valente Caywood--ministerial student, and his wife Jennifer--Optometrist; Dan Caywood--optical technician at U of A; Laura Caywood Barker--director of the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum (division of Old Pueblo Trolley) and her husband Daniel-secretary for a lawyer and a copy editor. See you soon, Marilyn Caywood

Retired 3 years ago. Moved from Menlo Park, Ca. to Groveland, Ca. which is located about 25 miles outside the main gate to Yosemite Nat. Park. I spend my time working on my kit airplane I am building, boating around a small lake near by, and amateur radio (WB6PZX). I got married two years ago to a very nice lady by the name of Virginia, who has not figured out what she wants to do in retirement so she still works at Adobe. I just returned from visiting Phoenix/Spring training. I go every year, had a great time, as usual. Have not been back to Tucson for 4 or 5 years. Hope to get back this October.

After high school, I began my work career at the Southern Arizona International Banking Downtown branch. One year later, I was working in the Registrars' Office at the University of Arizona. I got married in 1970 to Charlie Gallegos who graduated from Salpointe H.S. in 1963. Charlie had one daughter, Julia, and together we had two sons, Paul and Joseph.
In 1972, I quit my job at the UA to be a domestic engineer and raise some wonderful children. In 1980 I returned to work at CDO H.S. and then returned to work at the UA in 1986. I squeezed in some time for tennis and enjoyed macrame and sewing during my home years.
Over the years I had attended Pima College part-time, and in 1995 I began taking classes part-time while I continued to work and completed my B.S. in Family Studies in 1999. Nothing like being a late bloomer. My husband retired from TPD in 1992 and also returned to complete his B.A and M.A. while our sons and I were also attending college. We all graduated and were jumping for joy when it was over. I continued working until I retired from the State 4-H Office which is part of the Cooperative Extension Division in the College of Agriculture. I also did some volunteer work with the CASA program, being an advocate for children in the court system and volunteered with the Divorce Recovery program and worked with children of divorce.
In addition, my husband became a Deacon in the Catholic Church, and we were in charge of the youth group at our parish for 11 years. This was a volunteer position, and we both enjoyed it tremendously. We stepped down in 2003 to enjoy our growing family a bit more. My husband, however, continues to be a Deacon and serves in other ministries.
I am the happy Nana to two awesome grandchildren; Dominic who is 5 and Isabella, 1. They live in Queen Creek, Arizona which is just south of Phoenix. I wish they were in Tucson so I could see them more often.
My latest leisure time is trying to walk regularly, and I also am enjoying a Yoga class at Pima College. Just trying to stay healthy as age creeps in.
Recently, I was asked to fill in and work part-time in the 4-H Foundation Office which is the fundraising end of the State 4-H Office. I'm enjoying this position right now, and will see what the future brings.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the high school reunion.

Many of us are probably within retirement range. I just retired from Amphitheater Public Schools on May 27, 2005. My teaching career consisted of 2 parts-1) regular classroom teacher at Walker Elementary and 2) gifted teacher at Copper Creek and Coronado K-8. There was a decade between the two when I was a stay-at-home mom.
My life has really been blessed. God has blessed me with a loving husband (34 th anniversary) and three now adult children-Tiffany (28), Kevin (25) and Jeremy (21). No in-laws or grandchildren yet. Coincidentally, each child was born in the year of a Star Wars release. I just thought it was an interesting pattern. No relevance to my life…except that it is a creative and entertaining series.
No extraordinary adventures to report. I've enjoyed a very happy, peaceful life supported by loving friends and family and protected by a loving God.
This 40th reunion conflicts with our retirement trip; so, I'll forward to seeing all of you at our 50th!
