Just like that yearly holiday fruitcake that you are not looking forward to receiving, here is The Lewin Family Virtual, Interactive Year-end, Letter for 2015.

It has been a busy year with a little bit of traveling mixed in.

We all turned another year older and thought we need to accelerate our traveling before old age hits us squarely in the noggin, so far it is kicking our rears and we are trying to stay a step or two ahead.

The end of January, our traveling friend Dave came out to visit and talk about our trip to Ecuador the next month. Dave is very detailed , organized and a pleasure to travel with. He keeps telling me so. He keeps asking me if Obsessive Compulsive requires a hyphen. One evening while he was visiting, we noticed a most beautiful sunset over the ocean. We quickly drove down to Cardiff State Beach and captured these pictures.

Every now and then, Arnie and his friend Al travel to various places around Southern California to fine-tune our photography skills (or my lack thereof). This day we were down at the boat launch at Shelter Island when a fellow was backing his Zodiac boat down into the water. He failed to set the parking brake and it slipped out of "Park." Luckily, I was there to record the entire debacle. I spoke to the poor fellow after the fire department treated his injuries, he admitted he had no insurance on his truck.

February we traveled to Ecuador with Erin and Anthony, viz., Quito, the Amazon Jungle, Galapagos Islands and Cuenca. It was a wonderful trip and we, as always, took lots of pictures. You can see them here. There are many, sit back pour a glass of fine wine and and enjoy.

May 9th and 10th, Carol's garden was once again featured on an art/garden/studio tour. Here are the pictures from last year, it is all pretty much the same, but with much more growth.

In the summer, Encinitas hosts Classic Car Nights along the Coast Highway, Al and I went one evening and captured these pictures.

Arnie traveled a bit for work, he was in New York, Florida, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Arizona, New Mexico, North Carolina, Hawaii and California.

In September we attended Arnie's high school reunion in Tucson, I haven't had a chance to upload any pictures yet. Suffice it to say, there were a lot of old people in attendance.

Just after, we left for three weeks in Spain, visiting Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, Caditz, Rota, Sevilla and then Carol went on to Toledo while Arnie returned to the States for work. Here are a few modest pictures.

Arnie then flew to Amsterdam, meeting Carol and divided time between Amsterdam and Bodegraven with our friend Rob and his family. Pictures here.

We took the high-speed train from Amsterdam to Paris and spent three weeks in France. Here are some pictures, Returned home just three days before the Paris attacks.

We spent Thanksgiving with Anthony and Erin in Basalt, Colorado. Anthony now works for the City of Aspen as their tax auditor. We also celebrated his birthday. Pictures here.

Carol, our resident Master Gardener, was featured on one of the videos at the San Diego Botanic Garden. She insisted that you must view it here.

And speaking of pictures, in December there were particularly high seas coupled with high tides yielded a great opportunity for photography. Pictures here and here.

Don't forget, you can relive all these exciting minutes and many more with all the pictures on Flickr. There are only 20,000+ of them.

Live long and prosper.
